Chimney Sweep

I’m Tobias Kennedy-Matthews, a Chimney Sweep with nearly 20 years of experience working in the stove and chimney industry in the Devon area. Insured, Experienced member of The Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps and Sweep Safe certified. I offer a friendly, clean and professional service as well as an in depth knowledge of stoves and chimneys.

I am now using some of the latest in air cleaning technology where needed including the Defendair Hepa 500 air scrubber, which eliminates any soot and dust floating in the air before it has the chance to settle on your surfaces.

I gained much of my professional experience working as a HETAS installer between 2007 and 2020 for Mark Broadhead LTD and Kenwyn Chimneys and Stoves, who have been established for 40 years and are well known as the leading chimney experts in the area. With this incredible base of knowledge I went on to become a chimney sweep in my own right. Having previously been a HETAS registered installer for Mark Broadhead LTD also gave me an exceptional and in depth knowledge of how to best advise customers in the care and maintenance of their chimney and appliance, that other sweeps might not have.

I cover most areas within 45 minutes of Bideford, including Barnstaple, Ilfracombe, Braunton, Lynton and Lynmouth, South Molton, North Molton, Winkleigh, Sheabear, Holsworthy, Hatherleigh, Chulmleigh, Hartland and anywhere in between.

I also maintain an excellent relationship with the local community, I spend much of my free time raising money for local charities and mental health services. From cycling to Rome for local mental health charity Clarity, to my annual Community Christmas Hamper Fund and delivering Easter Egg Hunts to hundreds of families, I’ve always made my community an important part of my life.

This year I am raising money for 4 charities, Tommy’s Pregnancy and Baby Loss Charity, Royal Devon Hospitals Charity – Special Care Baby Unit, East The Water Community Food Pantry and Clarity, a North Devon Mental Health Charity. I will be doing this by entering a series of sporting events including triathlons, I have spent the last few months learning to swim and starting to run!
